A little girl showed me the bandaid on her hand, so I showed her the scrape on my knuckle and IMMEDIATELY four or five small children flicked over to come see my injury. They were so eager to behold my blood.
“The children were eager to behold my blood” is definitely a solid way to start a story.
They left disappointed when they saw it was just a weird scab.
A little girl at work once asked me if I was bleeding (I had a massive bandage on my hand) and when I said yes, she asked if she could see it. When I said the bandage would be too hard to remove, she told me she liked to “watch people bleed and lick blood”.
Pretty sure she was a vampire.
That’s just how children are.
